Inks Lake State Park & Devil's Waterhole
If someone asked me for one outdoor adventure they absolutely shouldn't miss in the Highland Lakes, Inks Lake State Park would be near the top of the list. The park offers hiking, paddling, camping, fishing, and some of the most beautiful granite landscapes in Central Texas, but the real star is Devil's Waterhole. Tucked into a rocky cove surrounded by pink granite cliffs, it's one of the most iconic swimming spots in Texas. On a summer day you'll find people swimming, paddling, relaxing on the rocks, and for the adventurous, jumping from the granite ledges into the clear water below. Beyond the waterhole, miles of trails, scenic overlooks, and year-round access to the lake make this a place worth visiting again and again.
